Would you ever open a business?

If so, what kind?

Absolutely! If I could, I would! What type? That's the question, I have a lot of varies interests that would be fun to pursue in a business sense

For a lot of reasons, no. But if I were younger and my life had turned out differently, probably yes

Given my background (25+ years in IT in both public and private sectors), I could certainly set up shop as an IT consultant of some form but not sure I want the hassle of running a business. I mean, I could handily run my own IT, but what about accounting, billing, taxes, building vendor and customer relationships, and so on. We shall see when I retire sometimes in the next few years.

If I was going to open something, it would be something with regular business hours and closed on the weekends.

I could imagine running a restaurant that is open 7 days a week and open late. Even if I wasn't there I'd be constantly checking in and I am sure my staff would be calling me with issues, it would be an all-consuming nightmare after a while.

I always thought about opening a store that sold guns and ammo. My step dad did it as a side hustle back in the 90's. When he met my mom and they started dating in late 92', he closed up his shop. He pretty much kept everything.

I suppose that is easy, if you sold food you would have to worry about expiration dates and rotating stock :p
